Memorial Weekend & Sunny's 9 Month Birthday

Happy 9 Month Birthday to our Miss Sunshine!

Sunny turned 9 months old on Memorial Day! We spent the weekend in Mexico, Mo visiting Sunny's grandparents. We stayed with Grandpa Jim and Grandma Barb. Sunny did a good job at leaving all her toys strung around the house and did plenty of little girl talk.

Rodney was a good son-in-law this weekend by helping Grandpa Jim do some house maintenance around the house. Thanks Rodney!! You can see below that Sunny wanted to help too!

We also went over to visit Nana and PePaw for dinner. Sunny got out her pots and pans and made lots of noise for them.

Nana is trying to catch up with Sunny as she is a fast crawler now!

Sunny getting excited looking at Daddy out the window. Daddy looks kinda of excited too. ;-)

Here's that smile Mommy just loves!

Giggle Girl Says "Hi Dada"!

These are clips from one evening this week. It's so nice to have great weather, so we enjoy it every evening if we can!

In the beginning of this clip, listen for Sunny to say " Hi Dada". It's adorable. Of course I don't think she knows what she said, but Daddy likes to argue otherwise. ;-) He loves to play this clip over and over.

They say you have to water things if you want them to grow, right? Look how she examines the water carefully.

And here we are at dinner. I believe Sunny had a question about what veggie she was getting that night and whether she had to eat all of it.

"OMG, Adam didn't win American Idol? That's devistating!"

Here Mommy makes her giggle.

Watch the very begining and how she catches herself from falling backwards. I love how she points her toes while doing so.

And some yummy grass for a little dinner appetizer. ;-/ This video really shows her up close and personal.

Past Saturday

This past Saturday, we had a wedding and a graduation party to go to. Here Sunny is dressed up before we leave and Daddy is about to feed her. He got her dressed and put the bow on her head while Mommy finished getting ready. Daddy didn't get the bow quite right because in this pic it looks like she has her karate headband on! So, you can see she's doing her "karate kid" moves.

"Wax on was off"

We went to Lee Summit for Kelsey's high school graduation and Lindsey's Nursing graduation party. Here's Sunny checkin out her great Aunt Debbie with cousin Kelsey.

Nana's making this face because Sunny is fussing that she wants Mommy to hold her and Nana is protesting!

When we got home, it was time for Sunny to go to bed. Mommy is trying to read her a bedtime story.

Sunny Stuff

Sorry I don't keep the blog more up to date. I used to work on the blog in the evenings, but now we have dinner then go outside, play a little and water our precious 80 sunflowers. ;-) After that and a long day at work, Mommy is pooped and ready for some reality tv and relaxing after Sunny goes to bed.

Here are some random pics of Sunny lately.

She has such grace and balance already, huh? Maybe she'll be a ballerina?

Poor Friend the cat. He's a trooper. Sunny follows him all the time, grabs him and then giggles.

Still one of her favorite places to stand in the house.

We call this pose "the big cheese". This is her ornery grin.

Making soup in the kitchen while Daddy gets dinner ready. (Daddy has been wonderful by always having dinner ready for Mommy when she gets home. Thanks Daddy!) ;-)

This is another favorite place to stand in the house. Since it's the fireplace, we were getting worried Sunny would bump her head on the hard rock, so Mommy and Daddy made these awesome covers out of cardboard and material!

Here she is just talking and playing by herself. She usually can entertain herself really well. Becky at daycare does say Sunny loves playing with the other kids though.

This is a funny video. Watch how she takes a little tumble and thinks it's the end of the world.

Here she is "fixing the car" like her Grandpa Jim or Uncle Joe would do.

Lately, Sunny has been having what we call "Sunny Moment" (Thanks Aunt Dorrie for the great name). Sunny will get very focused on waving her arms up and down, squishing her face and puckering her lips all while acting like she's mad! She's not, because when she stops, she smiles! Here's a very small clip of what I'm talking about. She usually does her "Sunny Moment" for more than 2 seconds, but of course when I catch it on camera, she doesn't do it long.

Sunny will also put her arm in the air and stick her thumb up! We call this "thumbs up". Here's a sample of her doing it.

Happy Mother's Day

Sunny and Mommy went to Mexico, Mo for Mother's Day weekend to see Nana and PePaw.

Mommy's first Mother's Day! Before Mommy left for Mexico Sunny and Daddy got Mommy a porch swing, roses and cards!

Nana finally gets a big smile from Miss Sunny.

Sunny in her sunflower outfit from Nana.

Look who can feed herself now! She's getting so independent already!!! AH!

Sunny in another cute outfit from Nana. See her homemade, yellow, Sunny Kay Box? It's a little toy Parents As Teachers showed me how to make. You show her an object, then put it in the box. She will then learn that things go away, but they can come back. She just has to open the lid and get it.

Photo shoot with Nana.

I love this shot!

Chill'n in the kitchen and the grandparents house. They have a tv in the kitchen so Sunny gets mesmorized watching it since she doesn't get to at home.

Here's a clip of her playing. She's definately getting louder as she discovers more of her voice.

We went out for Mother's Day brunch at the Country Club. Look who was a Drama Queen! There were also loud sounds involved.

Another cheerleader pose?

Planting Sunflowers

Sorry I haven't keept up on the blog. I've had computer malfunction problems, plus the fact that Sunny is more mobile now, I'm starting to not have enough time!!

Mommy has been germinating lots of Russian Mamouth Sunflowers to plant in the yard! Daddy isn't too happy about 'his lawn' being torn up by all these Sunflowers, but Mommy and Sunny won the battle and are excited to see the 60 Sunflowers grow all summer!

Here we are planting some around the trees while Friend the cat supervised.

This still her favorite spot in the house. She's also learned to get down from standing by herself. whew.

Here's one of our favorite cute outfits from our friend Angie and her family! It has little sunflowers on it. hee hee

And here she is on the go. I love the reflection on the wooden floors. ;-)
