6 Month Doctor Check Up

Today was Sunny's 6 mo check up! She did a great job a usual. She was more fidgety than before and didn't want to stop moving around on the table. She was very good and held still for the nurse and Dr. while they checked her out.

We were surprised to find out that she only weighs 15lbs 4oz! She's only gained a few ounces in 2 months!! Last time we were at the Dr. for her cold, she weighed 16lbs 6oz.

Dr. Morrison wasn't that worried about it since he said she physically looks healthy and not food deprived. He thought since she'd been sick so many times in the past few months, that it has contributed to why she hasn't gained much weight. He asked us to get her weight checked in 1 month, just to make sure she's gaining weight and not losing weight.

She measured at 26 1/2". This puts her in the 75% for height and 25% for weight. So, now it appears we have a tall, skinny baby! Just a few months ago, we were saying she was a short, fat baby. It's amazing how much they change in a short amount of time!

Here is Miss Ornery tearing up the paper on the table!

And here's the yucky end of the appointment where Sunny got her 3 shots in her legs!!! She held her breath and let out the hugest scream ever. I think these shots hurt more than last time! Mommy swooped in right after the shots and hugged and kissed on her. We gave her a bottle right after (she was starving anyway) and that seemed to distract her from the pain.

Here she is this morning before going to daycare. She was full of giggles.

Day with Daddy

Daddy had the day off, so he and Sunny ran all over town. They spent some quality time together and Sunny giggled a lot of the day. She always does with Daddy. Daddy happened to catch some good shots of our sunshine today. Check 'em out.

See how Daddy gets Sunny all rowled up in this video!

Sunday, Feb 22, 2009

We went to church today like we do every Sunday except this time Sunny was little more verbal! She screamed like a little girl and made lots of noises. We had to take her to the hall several times. She's just being a normal 6 month old, but she might have to go to the nursery from now on.

Here she is wearing her "Sunshine" shirt outfit from Grandma Carol.

It was a cold afternoon, but we went for a walk anyway. We just made sure to bundle Miss Thang up! She looked so cute in her "michelin man" suit from the Links!

Photo Shoot

Since Sunny will be 6 months old next week, we decided to try to do our own photo shoot with Sunny. She can sit up pretty well on her own now. (she still takes some pretty good nose dives though). Check out the pics below. I loved so many of them, but tried to post only a few.

This pic is funny because she always grabs her left foot now!

This is toward the end of the shoot and she was all giddy and started to grab the camera from me!

Chomping Away

We've moved onto Fruits for Sunny and to sum it up, I think she likes vegetibles better than fruit so far. She's tried carrots, sweet peas, squash, bananas, applesause & prunes. She didn't care too much for bananas or applesauce. See the videos below for her reactions. She's also starting to want to become an "independant eater". Which means, she basically grabs for the spoon now!

Here's bananas ...

Here's prunes ...

Here's her "prune" face. She looks like a clown, huh? Guess we could use prunes for makeup for the next Halloween!

Jump'n Pound Puppy

Sunny loves to stand (holding your hands) and kick her feet all the time. Everyone has been telling us we need to get Sunny a Jumperoo. So, we finally did! She absolutely loves it! As soon as we put her in it, it's like she knew instantly what to do and never wanted to stop! It's serious entertainment here at the Wright house.
See in the video below, her first time being in the Jumperoo.
I love this close up in the Jumperoo because you can see that one dimple on her left side that I always keep seeing but can never get a picture of it.

Sunny also has started this new sound....she pants like a puppy! Its so cute. Sometimes she gets to going so fast, she takes her breath away. Listen in the clip below.

Valentine's Day 2009

Sunny was a sport for Valentine's Day as you can see in the pic below!

We had a great Valentine's Day. Mommy got to sleep in until 10am because Daddy took care of Sunny when she woke up. Mommy also walked into the kitchen to find this from Daddy!

Mommy also couldn't resist dressing Sunny and I alike! Yes, I've only done this once, but it's so fun to be matching twins. hee hee

Grandma & Grandpa Wright also came over to bring Sunny a Valentine present. They gave her a card with some money for her piggie bank and the cute little bib she is wearing. Thanks guys!

Isn't this cute how Sunny is intently listening to Grandpa Denny wishing her a Happy Valentine's Day.

Meeting Uncle Joe

On Feb 11th, Uncle Joe and crew came to Kansas! Uncle Joe just got back from Iraq a few weeks ago and is transfering from Ft. Hood, TX to Ft. Riley, KS in May! We are all very excited because he, Dorrie and Airen will only be 2 hrs away from us! They went to Junction City, KS to buy a house and then came to Gardner to visit us! All the Grandparents from Mexico, Mo came to visit too!

Left to Right: Grandma Barb, Grandpa Jim, Cousin Airen, Uncle Joe, Aunt Dorrie, Nana, Sunny, Daddy, Mommy and Pee Paw.

Uncle Joe with his neice Sunny and son Airen.

Mommy with her nephew Airen and daughter Sunny.

Isn't this pic cute? I believe Airen is telling everyone to wait just a minute.

Joe and Airen do this neat little trick! Joe balances Airen in the palm of his hand! Airen loves this and it's to watch. See the video below as well.

Aunt Dorrie made these cute little bibs for the cousins! Thanks Dorrie!!!!

Grandpa Jim reading to Sunny.

Sunny has a book called "Who Loves Baby?" It has her parents, Aunts & Uncles and Grandparents in it. It was quit a hit between the two babies. Here, it looks like Airen is giving Sunny a lesson on their family!
Here, they both learn about having to share the book.

Here Sunny gives kisses to her relatives!

Look at the height difference! Airen is 15 month old and Sunny is 5 1/2! Only about a 4 inch difference! Watch out Airen, it appears Sunny might actually be tall someday!

What are these 2 up to?

Nana and Pee Paw with a happy Sunny!

We couldn't resist watching these two interact in the tub also! Here, Airen teaches Sunny all about the art of splashing!

Airen gives kisses to his little cousin.

This video is so funny. Airen has a workbench in which he LOVES to hammer the nails in. Watch how fast he does it and afterwards, he askes Sunny for a high-5!

Airen is being very helpful here in assisting with the care of Sunny.

At dinner time, we all sat around the table along with the babies. The adults had their conversation and the babies had theirs! Just watch! It was so cute to see them "talking" to each other!

Do You Feel Like I Do? ... Fun with breathing treatments

We went to the Dr. today and he said Sunny's lungs sound nice and clear and that she is on her way to recovery! That means we don't have to do anymore breathing treatments! Yea!

Here she is last night with Daddy while he was trying to make the treatments fun. Here's his little "Peter Frampton" fun.

Super Saturday

It was a very warm Saturday, so the Wright family spent some time outdoors. The fresh air was nice and it was fun to watch Sunny put her toes in the prickly grass!

I love this pic! Daddy was getting creative in his photography! Good job Dad!

Mommy had to take a pic like this because there is a pic of Mommy when she was Sunny's age in the same pose. See below.

Mommy in 1973.

Look what else that was learking in the back yard ...

It's a bird, it's a plane, .... no, it's SUNNY!

Daddy also had a little fun of his own with Sunny inside. Since we haven't had too much snow this winter, Daddy made sledding fun inside!

We took bath at the end of the day. Here she is with her new HOMEMADE hoodie towel from Mrs. Randsdell! She loves it because it's so big and cozy. It also has embroidered sunflowers all over it and her name! Thank you so much Bonnie for this towel and all the handmade bibs too!
